Make Do and Mend
We are having to make do and mend due to Corona and the limits of what we can and can't do.
For example we can't use the cameras and can't walk around school this puts a limit on how we learn photography as we can't take photos.
For example we can't use the cameras and can't walk around school this puts a limit on how we learn photography as we can't take photos.
My life since march 2020 hasn't changed largely as life at home has stayed the same the only limits where not being able to leave my house and go do things I normally would like see my friends and family. The way I have stayed in contact with my friends and family over this time is through calls on the phone and talking to my friends over games.
The main change in my life was school as we have to do stuff a lot differently. Before we could just walk around now we have to meet in one spot after every lesson to be collected by our teachers to keep all the years away from each other,we also have to hand sanitise before and after every lesson. The school has also been split into a one way system and the toilets are assigned to year groups to keep the years split. Changes like these are what have made life in school much different.

05/10/20 In the lesson today we where given a image to fold and change then we where given a range of images to pick from that we then cut pieces out of change the image.(My images are to the right).
Analysing The Image
The image is of a young boy dressed up as a sheriff. If I was to describe this photo to someone who couldn't see it I would say that it was an image of a boy with a sheriff hat and a wool jumper sitting down pointing a toy gun towards the viewer of the image with a intense look on his face.A technique used to create this image where probably the way in which the photo was taken eg. the angle and distance from the boy.The photo reminds me of .The majority of lines in this image are curved with very few straight lines aside from the ones of the t-shirt under his jumper the colours are mainly grey as the image has been taken in black and white.I feel like space is represented by the blank background and the distance at which the photo was taken as if it was closer it would feel as if there was less space in the image. The most interesting part of this image in my opinion is the boys facial expression because if it was changed it would change the way the image was viewed for example the boys face in the original is quite intense but if the face was change to be smiling the image would be changed as you would think differently about what was going on.If I could ask the artist about there work I would probably ask them what the mean behind the image was.
I1)Why did you choose that particular image?
I choose this image as I liked it the most it was an image that as soon as I saw it I had an idea of what I was going to do with it.
2)What did you want to change within the image?
I cut the chair Obama was sitting on out to create the idea that he was floating then I added wings to him.
3)How did you make the changes?
I used a small knife to cut it and a pencil to draw the initial lines I was going to cut over.
4)How does the image look now after you have adapted it?
The image shows Obama is floating.
5) Can you still some elements of the original image or is it completely obscured by your adaptions?
Most of the original image is still visible as I only removed the chair and some space behind Obama to create the wings.
6) If you could improve this adaption
what would you do?
If I could improve this image I would redo the wings as I fell they could have come out better. I also may have added a background if I was to do it again but that is something I can still add.

Marcel Duchamp and the 'Readymade'
Leonardo da Vinci's "Mona Lisa" has found its home in the Louvre after leaving the Royal collection which it was put in by Francis II and is famous for its sort of smile the mystery of the Mona Lisa herself and how the image was stolen by a worker at 'The Louvre' and change by Marcel Duchamp.
Marcel Duchamp Changed the image by adding a beard, moustache and changing the background to a darker more dull colour. The name 'L.H.O.O.Q' means 'A fire down below'.I believe that Duchamp added male facial hair to the Mona Lisa to make fun of the Mona Lisa and the artist who painted it.
The term 'Readymade' to my understanding is a term to describe something that is already created and ready for somebody to adapt and change. The L.H.O.O.Q is a readymade due to the fact that Marcel Duchamp took an image painted by da Vinci and adapted it to make it his partly own.
Marcel Duchamp's idea of readymade was revolutionary idea in art due to the fact he did it to such a famous image and was most likely the first to use the idea of a readymade image. He probably inspired many people to do the same and adapt 'Readymade' images

Matt Lipps
Matt Lipps has spent the past decade focusing on the relationship between Photography and Sculpture. He was born in 1975 and teaches photography at several Universities. Lipps uses cut-out images that he finds in magazines, arranging the images to create still life photographs. once he is happy with the result he photographs it.
I have chosen to focus on this image as it immediately caught my eye. The image isn't the most colourful but it caught my eye due to the fact that there was quite a lot going on but in a neat and organised way. In my opinion the image is nice and is a good mix between the present and past as the images of things like the Elephant & Brown Horse are representations of present day animals whereas the armoured horses are representations of animals in the past as they where probably used in the times of fighting and war. The sculptures also have the same effect as the animals used to represent the past as they have an old feeling to them that makes my feel as if they are a representation of the past.

Google Street View Field Trip.
We used Google maps to go on a trip to a place of our choice, I chose Madeira as it is a place I knew would have great opportunity for pictures. I tried to focus on the houses as I had an idea of what kind of pictures I wanted.
